The Marienbad Gallery, located right on the famous colonnade in the heart of Mariánské Lázně, will open its second exhibition this year on Friday 15 May. After František Hodonský, the first floor of the colonnade will be filled with canvases by Petr Malina, one of the most interesting contemporary Czech painters.
The opening of the Petr Malina exhibition at the Marienbad Gallery will take place on Friday 15 May 2026 at
17:00 in the gallery (1st floor of the colonnade). The exhibition will run until 15 September 2026.

Petr MALINA is a realist and his flat manuscript is almost constant. He does not make big
fluctuations in his painting. He remains faithful to himself both in the form of expression and, most of the time, in the subjects. His clear
conception of the world around him appeals to a wide audience at home and abroad.
Malina paints in thematic cycles. His dominant theme is FIGURE and its integration
into the city or the relaxing environment of nature.
However, he is also fascinated by ARCHITECTURE with elements of the motif of buildings, roofs and courtyards, where he introduces
the viewer to the nostalgia of a lost or fleeting time. He often puts himself in the role of a spectator -
observer. Sometimes a sense of anonymity can even arise. The themes are often only hinted at and
the viewer can add to the story with his own interpretation, his imagination or fantasy.
MALINA emphasizes the coloristic treatment of color. In the spectrum of colour he is close to
sober, earthy and unobtrusive colours.
The paintings tell full of magical stories and leave us with the charm of fine art...
unforgettable impressions that will accompany us for a long time.
MARIENBAD GALLERY was reopened in May 2025 thanks to the initiative of several
enthusiasts. Karel Kalivoda and his team from Ensana
played a key role, together with Marienbad entrepreneur and hotelier David Folprecht. The
gallery is gradually becoming an important meeting point for contemporary art and the spa tradition
of the city.
The MARIENBAD GALLERY
is set in the historic setting of the famous colonnade of Mariánské Lázně.
The special appeal of this happy coincidence lies in the combination of 19th century architecture
