The beginning of October in Mariánské Lázně traditionally belongs to nature and good food. The administration of the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area invites all lovers of forest, mushrooms and autumn delicacies to two beautiful events taking place this weekend.
From Saturday 4 to Sunday 5 October, the annual Mushroom Exhibition will take place at the Administration of the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area at Hlavní 504. Visitors can look forward to freshly picked mushrooms from our and surrounding regions, demonstrations and tastings of mushroom dishes, a mushroom quiz for children or the opportunity to identify the mushrooms brought on the spot. There will also be a look into the microworld under a binocular microscope. The exhibition is prepared annually by the Mycological Club of the Slavkov Forest and this year promises many surprises. A new feature will be the connection with local beekeepers - in addition to mushrooms, you will also get a glimpse into the secrets of beekeeping and life in the hive.
On Sunday 5 October, Mariánské Lázně will be abuzz with a cheerful atmosphere and the smell of freshly baked apple strudels. The reconstructed main colonnade will host the Spa Apple Festival, a day-long celebration of the autumn harvest of fruit from the Slavkov Forest. The festival will offer a varied fair of local producers and craftsmen, exhibitions of regional fruit varieties, gardening produce and a thematic exhibition "Trees in the Landscape". Children and adults alike can take part in competitions and art workshops, sample a variety of apple and pear dishes and enjoy a cultural and musical programme, culminating in an afternoon concert by the Jazz Cakes band.

10.30 - 12.30 Art competition for children "The most beautiful apple" and games for children with a fruit theme

11.15 - 12.45 Musical performance by Kateřina Bodláková & Band
13.15 Festive salute, welcoming guests and awarding of prizes to winners
14.00 - 14.45 Musical performance Fontána

The festival will be hosted by Petr Čimpera. The event is held in cooperation with the AOPK ČR, RP Administration of the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area and the Karlovy Vary Region.
