Advent at the Chopin House will bring a magical Christmas atmosphere and a rich programme

The Chopin House in Mariánské Lázně will light up with festive cheer this mid-December and open its doors to local residents and spa guests. From 13 to 20 December 2025, it will offer a week full of Christmas atmosphere, music, gatherings and craft stalls. The Advent programme will take place thanks to the financial support of the town of Mariánské Lázně.

"Advent in Mariánské Lázně has a unique charm and we want locals and visitors to be able to experience it together in the Chopin House. We have prepared a programme that combines culture, community and traditional Christmas atmosphere. We believe that everyone will find something to their liking - whether they come for a concert, workshops, a meeting with authors or just a cup of mulled wine," says Barbora Tintěrová, director of the Mariánské Lázně Information Centre.

The entire Chopin House will be festively lit and decorated, Christmas trees will be lit up in its premises and in front of it, and guests will be greeted by reproduced Christmas music as soon as they arrive. The Advent week will be marked by cooperation with the local community - the programme includes community stalls and the involvement of pupils from the F. Chopin Primary School of Arts.

"We are delighted that so many local organisations and clubs are getting involved in Advent Week. The Dráček Children and Youth House, Charity, Kotec, the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, watermen, pipe makers, the F. Chopin Elementary School and local seniors all help to create an atmosphere that is truly communal. Advent at the Chopin House is not only a cultural event, but also a meeting of people who love their town and want to do something for it," adds Barbora Tintěrová.

Christmas market with the smell of punch and mead

A Christmas market will be held daily from 15:00 to 18:00 in the courtyard of the Chopin House. Traditional Christmas stalls will offer a diverse range of products, from natural cosmetics, felt products and ceramics to Christmas decorations and mistletoe to honey products. The programme will also include a community market featuring non-profit organisations and voluntary associations from Mariánské Lázně. There will be refreshments - mulled wine, punch, mead and this year, in cooperation with the Mariánské Lázně Fishery, baked fish.

In the SetKavárna, visitors can look forward to another varied offer of drinks, coffee, sweet pastries and pancakes. Christmas decorations, music and the possibility of sitting at tables or cocktail tables with heaters will ensure a pleasant atmosphere.

Music every day

Every day you can enjoy cultural performances, especially concerts. For example, Bára Červinková and her band Tribute to Zuzana Navarová, Lucie Víšková & Jazz Cakes, Dan Suchý Band, Petra Brabencová & Box of Chocolates and others will perform.

Accompanying program

The Advent atmosphere will be enriched by children's theatre, Christmas workshops and the tree lighting ceremony.

Among other things, you can also look forward to film experiences. On the evening of Tuesday 16 December, a special "Christmas" edition of the film club will take place, with romantic comedies and Christmas classics on the programme Love in Heaven. In cooperation with the Book Spa Festival, psychotherapist Honza Vojtko and singer Dan Bárta will present their new books. At the same time, the traditional winter book fair will take place.

We invite you to the Chopin House to spend the pre-Christmas time together in a friendly and festive atmosphere. Admission to all events is voluntary, except for the book meetings within the Book Spa Festival.
