On Thursday 10 July at 7.30pm, the Chopin House will present a unique piano recital Geniuses of World Music in Piano Transformations - another in a series of unusual performances by composer and pianist Jiří Pazour.
This concert programme will also include a number of musical pieces in various genres and styles. This time too, as is customary in Jiří Pazour's concerts, the artist makes contact with his listeners in the second half of the concert and fulfils their musical wishes. This way, original new piano pieces are created without preparation right in front of the audience.
As the title suggests, the concert will feature piano improvisations on the themes of well-known works by Czech and international composers in a new musical form. Jiří Pazour, with a funny and kind accompanying word, will play, for example, Smetana's Vltava in various musical styles, or he will transform the musical theme of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto in B minor in an original way. You will also hear original arrangements of works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Antonín Dvořák, George Gershwin and other composers.
With Jiří Pazour you will experience an extraordinary evening not only of first-class piano playing, but above all an evening of lively, exciting and inspirationally charged improvisations and musical transformations.
As is customary with Jiří Pazour's concerts, in the second part of the programme you will be able to choose your own themes to be treated by Jiří Pazour. This part of the concert is never the same, each time there is new music. You will have the opportunity to watch how familiar melodies are transformed and how new musical compositions are created on the spot.
The event is realized with the financial support of the town of Mariánské Lázně.
