Fryderyk Chopin Memorial Museum
The Fryderyk Chopin Memorial Museum is situated on the second floor of the Chopin House at Hlavní 47, Mariánské Lázně.
The Fryderyk Chopin Memorial can be found on the second floor of the Chopin House. It was opened in 1960 on the 150th anniversary of the Polish composer and pianist’s
birth in the house where he stayed in 1836. The current exhibition, installed following the complete renovation of the building in the years 2020–2023, acquaints visitors with items held by the Fryderyk Chopin Society and also recalls the centenary celebrations in 1902 when two black Silesian granite plaques were unveiled commemorating Chopin’s time in Mariánské Lázně. There are plans to expand the exhibition to focus more on Chopin’s time in Bohemia, giving visitors a better impression of how he travelled through these exquisite places.
Tickets to the Memorial can be purchased at the tourist information centre.
The Fryderyk Chopin Society also oversees the archive and library dedicated to Fryderyk Chopin located in the Chopin House and organises the Chopin festival. Every Wednesday from 14.00 to 17.00 a member of staff is available for all those interested in the above. Visitors can have a guided tour and see notes belonging to Chopin and various publications, as well as learn about prominent individuals associated with Mariánské Lázně and the Chopin Society.
