A gala concert to mark the start of the spa season in Mariánské Lázně, which will offer an exceptional evening with works by the most important Czech composers.
World-famous opera singer Adam Plachetka, soloist of the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, is heading to Mariánské Lázně! As part of the festive concert to open the spa season, they will perform on the stage of the Casino Social House under the baton of Stanislav Vavřínek.
The concert will open with an energetic overture to the opera The Bartered Bride byBedřich Smetana – one of the most beloved Czech operas, whose captivating music will immediately draw the listener into the festive atmosphere of the evening. The first half of the concert will also feature a selection of arias from operas by Bedřich Smetana and Antonín Dvořák, which will present the beauty of Czech opera and offer space for the impressive singing art of soloist Adam Plachetka. The highlight of the evening will be Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88, often called "English".
This symphony is one of the composer's most joyful and colorful works and, with its melodic richness and inspiration from the Czech landscape, it perfectly closes the festive opening of the new spa season.
