WBS: Symphony concert: Music of Three Nations

The West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra cordially invites you to a concert entitled Music of Three Nations, which will offer a colorful musical evening in the spirit of romanticism and national sentiment. Under the baton of conductor Jiří Habart, the orchestra will perform works by three European composers whose music is rooted in a deep relationship to their own culture and tradition – and yet appeals to audiences around the world. The concert will begin with a dip into gentle Nordic lyricism with Finnish composer Jean Sibelius' Impromptu for Strings. This will be followed by Antonín Dvořák's poetic and melodic Czech Suite, which embodies the beauty of the Czech landscape and the spirit of folk songs. The evening will conclude with Georges Bizet's spirited and dramatic Carmen Suites Nos. 1 and 2, inspired by the world of Spanish dance and passion. The Music of Three Nations concert is a musical journey through Europe – from Nordic melancholy to Central European lyricism to Southern exuberance.
