Swing Melody Quartet is a swing quartet that draws on the best of the classical jazz and swing tradition. The main personality of the ensemble is a bandleader, singer, arranger and trumpeter Jan Veverka, a graduate of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague and a former member of several leading Czech swing orchestras. It is his strong musical personality and deep relationship to jazz and swing that give the band its distinctive sound. The same passion for this style unites the other members of the ensemble. Listeners can look forward to an elegant, energetic and stylistically authentic concert that will recall the magic of the swing era.
