GALERIE MARIENBAD presents an exhibition of the renowned Czech artist František Hodonský, featuring a selection of his paintings and sculptures.
The exhibition focuses on key themes of Hodonský’s work – the landscape of South Moravia, waterways, floodplain forests, and the changing energy of nature, which the artist interprets through an expressive visual language that at times approaches abstraction. Alongside painting, sculptures are also presented, highlighting his versatility, distinctive three-dimensional vision, material diversity, and sculptural thinking. GALERIE MARIENBAD was reopened in the spaces of the Main Colonnade in May 2025 thanks to the initiative of several enthusiasts. A key role was played by Karel Kalivoda and his team from Ensana, together with Mariánské Lázně entrepreneur and hotelier David Folprecht. “We are pleased to offer visitors to our city high-quality art in the unique historical setting of the colonnade. The combination of 19th-century architecture with contemporary art creates an unforgettable experience,” comments gallery owner David Folprecht.
The exhibition of František Hodonský is already the third exhibition presented by GALERIE MARIENBAD.
