Geologic Park educational trail

Distance: 100 m

This educational trail, beginning at the edge of the spa town, presents an overview of the geological characteristics and floral communities of Slavkovský Forest.

The path follows along the slope of a beech forest above the Municipal Museum, and passes through the park with a free-nature exhibition featuring well-known and rare minerals occurring in the Slavkovský Forest area.

The plants, herbs, and bushes have been selected so as to correspond to their actual occurrence as connected with the geological base and soil conditions of the site of the mineral occurrence. The trail is about 1.5 km long, covers an area of nearly 10 hectares, and acquaints visitors with the geological history of the Karlovy Vary region.
